Our Story
For generations, the Seven Fires (prophecies) have guided Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island, foretelling a time of great transition and offering hope for spiritual renewal. We have no arrived at a crossroads in the Seventh Fire - one path leading to destruction, the other towards eternal peace. The 8th Fire Run seeks to steer humanity towards this path of eternal peace by achieving global environmental harmony and true peaceful prosperity for all.
The Two Eclipses
On April 8, 2024, during peak total solar eclipse over the 1st Fire Stopping Place (Montreal), the 8th Fire Run began. By ceremonially dipping an eagle staff into the waters, we embarked on an ancestral journey to retrace the path of our ancestors across Turtle Island through all the Seven Fires stopping places and beyond. Our purpose is to awaken this ancient prophecy, guide humanity onto the prophesied path of eternal peace, and achieve Peaceful Prosperity.
The 8th Fire Run humbly puts forth Sagkeeng First Nation to be recognized as the 8th Fire Stopping Place to unite Indigenous peoples, build a Village of Peace and Turtle Lodges for our youths before the upcoming 8th Fire Eclipse on October 26, 2144 over Sagkeeng.
Expected Outcomes

The Goal: $100,000 (To Start)
Every dollar raised will fuel this historic 21,000 km (13,000 mi) run around Turtle Island:
- Sustenance for 13 full-time runners
- Transportation, team support, costs
- Educational materials, outreach, free merchandise
- Institutional building (founding key enterprises) as long-term funding strategy to keep initiatives going intergenerationally
The Route of the Eighth Fire Prophecy Run across Turtle Island:
- Started in Bonavista, Newfoundland in honor of the 'extinct' Beothuk and through the Eastern Door Turtle Lodge in Eskasoni, Una'maki (Cape Breton), Mi'kma'ki
- Retracing the steps of the Seven Fires stopping places around the Great Lakes region
- Through the proposed 8th Fire (Sagkeeng) and then the Heart of Turtle Island (Riding Mountain National Park)
- To the west coast visiting as many Indigenous communities as possible
- Down the west coast towards California through the proposed Western Door
- Heading eastward from the west coast through the Navajo and Oklahoma nations
- Symbolically retracing the Trail of Tears in reverse to Washington, D.C. and New York City
- Ending at the 1st Fire (Montreal) or Ottawa (to be determined)
Progress Update
As of October 23, 2024, the 8th Fire Run is in the Antigonish, Nova Scotia area heading to Prince Edward Island, then New Brunswick, and towards the 1st Fire (Montreal)
The Urgency
Flying Wolf Man (Kelly Dale Edwards), lead runner of the 8th Fire Run from Sagkeeng and Lake Manitoba First Nation, experienced human rights and Indigenous rights violations in 2023 that had demonstrated police, corporations, and governments are not adhering to the rule of law and that laws are merely social constructs that only exist in the minds of humans. After discovering an elite, unelected few wielding great power and influence over our societies, Flying Wolf Man was compelled to bring true democracy to the people in order to address humanity's existential threats through this 8th Fire Run. All donations will go towards the 8th Fire Run and its causes.
In light of the threats of nuclear war and suffering from a disastrous global climate emergency, the time for action is now or never. The 8th Fire Run seeks to achieve Peaceful Prosperity for all in order to quell conflicts, greed, and selfishness that has consumed the minds of many elites.
