Devon Mushu needs hernia and cryptorchid surgery
Donation protected
Devon is a full-breed Devon Rex Cat. Devon 'somehow' was found outside in horrible condition. After an emergency room visit, he needs Hernia and cryptorchid (testicle did not descend) surgery. The story begins at a pub/eatery in Delray Beach. A man walked up to a table and put his cat down and said watch my cat saying he would be right back. They waited late into the night and he never reappeared. Not only was everyone shocked but they notice the cat had a growth on his abdomen and a lot of wounds on his ears and body and was extremely thin. When the wife of one of the eatery people (who also is a volunteer for Animal Rescue Force of South Fla, Inc.) came by she immediately took the cat to the Animal Emergency Veterinarian in Boynton. Blood work, xrays and general Vetting were done. The prognosis is good but complicated. The growth is a Hernia (soft swelling beneath the skin and it often protrudes near the abdominal area) and a Cryporchid (failure of one testicle to descent into the scrotum), plus he was never neutered - He is 4/5 YO. The wounds were from bug bites or small animals. He was 8 lbs which is very thin for an adult cat. Devon was dealt a bad hand of cards BUT now in a safe place and will get the care he needs to live a good life. We need your help to accomplish this monetarily. Veterinary surgery is extremely expensive, for small rescues it is a major undertaking. Any amount will get us closer to the goal of $3000. Please consider our fund, somehow this poor Devon Rex got into the wrong hands of an irresponsible person. Lucky for him he got into the Hands of a RESPONSIBLE organization. Pictures of his journey will follow. Thank you in advance. Animal Rescue Force of South FLA, Inc. a 501(c)3 organization. 100% Volunteer.
