Kai Needs Surgery for Cancer Tumor Removal
Donation protected
Meet Kai...he is a 7 year old Golden Retriever + Yellow Lab Retriever Dog. He was adopted as a puppy from a family who was giving these beautiful pups away to friends and family.
Kai has Mast Cell Cancer Tumor.
One the evening of November 26, I discovered several new lumps on his belly, chest, and armpits. I immediately went to the vet the following day. After two vet consults, it's recommended he have surgery ASAP to remove the tumor. He has at least 3 bumps, so hopefully it's just the one day of surgery that needs removal.
The prognosis for completely removed grade I and grade II tumors is excellent. The prognosis for incompletely removed grade I and II tumors treated with radiation therapy after surgery is also excellent with approximately 90-95% of dogs having no recurrence of tumor within 3 years of receiving radiation therapy. We will find out after December 11th the "grade" and if it can be "completely" removed with "clean margins." Tumors are on his belly, chest, and armpits.
December 11 is his surgery in Austin, TX. He could possibly have more than one and we will not know until the day of surgery. If he doesn't have this surgery cancer will grow and can spread.
I'm 100% committed to doing everything I can on my part holistically and using nutrition therapy.
Kai needs your help because his care is estimated at $1200 for one medium-sized tumor. Kai has exercise-induced hyperthermia and requires special anesthesia. As some of you may know, I've battled my own chronic health issues where expenses are costly and am working three jobs to keep up.
Any support would mean the world to us so we can focus on healing and recovery. Kai needs your love, prayers, and healing vibes.
Kai is my world. He's helped me foster other dogs and make them learn how to be a "dog" again.
Friends can always Venmo or if easier.
