**UPDATE**: Rocky passed away on Friday, August 27th after his long and very hard battle. Services will be held on September 4th, 2021 from 11-1 at Scott Funeral Home in Terryville, CT. My dad, Rocky Alan Fonck was diagnosed with Lung Cancer back in July. That day and the weeks since then have been the hardest time for him and our family. He spent the first couple of weeks in the hospital needing surgeries and had to go through extensive testing. Rocky is currently fighting the battle at home with the help of his wife, Laurie.

Rocky recently started chemotherapy and immune therapy at Smilow Cancer Hospital, going every 3 weeks. (They’re great!) Thankfully after the second treatment the tumor had shrunk in half! The doctor was amazed. The chemo is very hard on him though.

Between the many hospital stays and doctor visits, the bills are adding up. Insurance does not cover all of the costs and Laurie has been missing a lot of work. She has used up all of her paid time off. There are personal expenses and other medical expenses that keep adding up as well. He will have at least another 2 years of treatments after this as well, which means more bills.

Rocky has helped with many fundraisers with his band, The Chaparral’s. Between playing for free or attending other fundraisers just to give from his heart, he has always been there for everyone and we hope this GoFundMe will be able to give back.

Through all of this pain he has never lost hope and tries to keep a positive attitude. He hopes to be able to get over this and sing again. He is looking forward to walking me down the aisle next year.
