Black-Owned Sustainable Store

Funding for a black-owned sustainable home goods online store.

Hey, my name is Chaun and I own and operate Simply Healthy Ways. Initially my business was Meal Prep and Meal Prep only but Ms Rona changed some things. Not having access to tp, paper towel, cleaning supplies and other stuff, I realized all of these single-use items, things I thought I sooo desperately needed, were unnecessary piles of petty packaged crap!! Lol but no the stores were cleaned out, and I was disappointed each visit.  My mother had to send me tp from my small town in Indiana; my tp was imported..my tp got flewed out..my tp doesn’t take spirit lol shout out to moms, pops and my homegirl! But that is insane! Something I never thought I would even think about going without is now MIA and guarded like gold.  

I’ve always been parsimonious and cautious of my waste, but what did it for me was taking the trash out constantly because I was accumulating so much take out...I mean waste.... during lockdown. I had to visually see it accumulate...and it was not pretty..I made some changes And now pride myself in being a minimalist (curly hair flip). So I sought out for sustainable stores, online and brick... but then George Floyd...and the division was clear. I wanted to do my part and only support black owned businesses. Support who supports me and stop giving my money to the opps. They don’t even clean their stores properly!

Anyway, I couldn’t find a sustainable store owned or managed by a black person so started looking for vendors for SHW Sustainable. Here I am with only 20 products wanting to be an alternative to Walmart and Target for your daily products and an option for my beautiful deserving black peoples.

I’ve been using the grace of god and my own savings to provide a few items but I could use some help. I’m still working my 9-5 and this business is nothing short of that 3x. But I’m motivated and grinding. Donations  will help keep my prices affordable and available. I am also accepting other donation to the store, I would love to have a variety of hand made soaps, butters, deodorants and other lovely self care goo. 

I want to give my black people more options. My store is for everyone but especially for my black peoples!
