A journey for Rafal

I am raising money for my work colleague and friend Rafal Sakowicz. Rafal was employed as a community support worker with the Irish Wheelchair Association.

While getting ready for work on a November morning 2023 he collapsed. Rafal suffered a bleed on the brain and after many weeks in Beaumont hospital he is now faced with many months of rehabilitation in the hope that he will get back to his life before this happened.

Rafal is a young man only 38 with no family here in Ireland as he is from Poland. Rafal's family all live in Poland and I am hoping this fund raiser will help to support them to come and spend time with him here in Ireland during his recovery.

Rafal is missed by all his colleagues and indeed our service users in the Irish Wheelchair Association and

Rafal is a dedicated employee always going above and beyond to assist and support our service users in his role. After 3 years working with us on a CE scheme he had just secured a permanent position.

We hope that these funds will assist him and his family on this very difficult journey.
