Greetings!
My name is Mario Giguere and I am the proud president of the Alberta Ghostbusters . We are a registered non-profit society in the province of Alberta that raises money for children's hospitals by fundraising at local events.
But wait, there's more!
We are also a community of skilled prop makers and cosplayers. In light of COVID-19, we have turned our talents, 3D printers, and sewing skills to a new cause: protecting our brave frontline workers.
We are not alone in this endeavor. In addition to our members, we are collaborating with other prop makers including those from the newly filmed Ghostbusters: Afterlife movie, Fuse33 Makerspace, LA Sewing, Along Came Quilting, Edmonton 3D Prints, Foam Armory, Huffy Unicorn Cosplay, Ardent Props, TK421 Prop Stop, and the 501st Legion – Badlands Garrison.
Together, we are producing "scrub-style" caps and "ear guards" to donate to Albertans providing frontline services across the province. This work is a labour of love and our way of showing gratitude.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money to cover the costs of materials. With your help, we will be able to provide protective supplies to so many more Albertans than we can manage alone. For as long as there are orders coming in, 100% of the donations will go strictly to materials and our members will be reimbursed for receipts rather than paid for materials in advance to make sure all donations are properly allocated. Donations are needed as soon as possible - we have requests pouring in!
We will get through this! And when we do, any left over donations will be split equally and donated to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation (Edmonton) and the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation (Calgary).
