Memorial bench for my little brother Alexander

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cassie and I'm raising money in memory of my little brother, Alexander.

He was run over in 2009, aged 17, and a memory bench was placed at the canal basin close to the road where he died. A bench was also placed there in memory of Dylan, a little boy who had drowned in the lock the year before. The bench is where people have gone to sit to remember him and it means a lot to a lot of people - not least me, my little sister Xanthe, and our mother Beverley.

However, Alexander's bench has disappeared. It was there until quite recently, but from what we've heard it was smashed up and thrown into the canal by a group of young people with nothing better to do.

Naturally we're all devastated; this is the second time the bench has been vandalised since it was placed. My mother in particular has spent a lot of time at the bench to remember her son and now that's been taken away.

And so we're reaching out to ask for help. Anything you're willing to donate will go towards replacing the bench. My mother will be handling the finances and I will post updates here at her discretion. Please help us out; even if you can't donate, share with your friends and family and help spread the word. It would mean the world to us.
