An Automobile for Angelika!

**A Massive THANK YOU to everyone who has donated and shared this fundraiser so far, because we've smashed our original goal of $5,000!
Angelika and I have been told a few times now that she'll need more money for a car, so I'm raising the target to $15,000 in the hope that we can reach this and ensure Angelika doesn't have to pay anything out of her own pocket for a suitable and reliable vehicle... **

Hi, we're fundraising for Angelika so that she can afford to buy herself a sturdy second-hand car and continue her charitable work supporting homeless and displaced people.
Angelika Aulerich has a beautiful giving heart, and has been volunteering her time to help people for most of her adult life. Since moving to Bellingen, she has been helping locals and the wider community in any way she can, so much so that in 2021 she was awarded the Government of New South Wales Community Service Award and was runner-up for the Coffs Coast Woman of the Year Award.
Over the past 4 years Angelika has been volunteering hours of her time every week - previously working out of the House of Hope kitchen and now the Bellingen Showground kitchen - cooking for homeless charity Pete’s Place in Coffs Harbour, and also more recently supplying meals for the hungry to the Bellingen Pantry.
Each week, with the assistance of her faithful ‘Kitchen Angels’ (that's us!), she transforms donated and unwanted meat, vegetables, fruit and dry goods into hundreds of nourishing and delicious meals.
In April 2023, Angelika and her team broke their own record by making over 440 meals in one day, and they regularly create more than 200 meals each week.
In addition to her charitable cooking efforts, in 2022 Angelika also made several journeys up the NSW coast and back to deliver donations of money, food, bedding, clothes, and other supplies that she spent many weeks gathering, to people affected by the Northern Rivers floods.
Her trusty and invaluable partner throughout all of this has been her beloved car - nicknamed ‘The Beast’ - an ageing, second-hand Holden Commodore that finally gave up last week, and has been sadly sent to the scrap heap.
Angelika is now desperately trying to source a new vehicle to assist her, whereby she can continue to collect food and other donations, deliver meals to Pete’s Place and whoever else needs them, and get around as she constantly works to ensure that some of the most vulnerable people in our local community are nourished and given some love and care.
Angelika has no regular income and is entirely dependent on donations to be able to continue her work. She is so dedicated to cooking for the homeless that she is considering re-mortgaging her home, a prospect she finds extremely scary. We want her to be able to avoid this, so please donate whatever you can so that Angelika can afford to buy another second-hand car that will work as hard as she does, every week, to help people in need. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and is gratefully received.
Any excess will be used for her charity work and to buy provisions for her weekly cooking for homeless people.
Many thanks in advance for your love and support of the Amazing Angelika and her wonderful work!
