BAAI ALKEBULAN URGENT FUNDRAISER
Donation protected
Baai Alkebulan's African Library, Art and History Museum has done so much important work in the 6 months, connecting young people, many of them at-risk, to African culture and community in Melbourne. Sadly, we’ve fallen behind on rent. We need to raise funds urgently to cover the cost of renting our community Alkebulan house in Pickett St, Footscray.
If we can raise $23,000, we can be certain we'll continue supporting young people for at least six months.
There is no other place like Baai Alkebulan house. As a grassroots organisation, we’re entirely community-led. That's why we're reaching out to our community for help when we need it most.
Every week, we:
- Improve students’ academic performance by providing CALD tutors outside the pressure of a school environment.
- Expand young people’s knowledge and connection to community with programs on African history and culture.
- Host reading groups for kids to develop new skills and learn about themselves.
- Connect young people to sport and culture through excursions around the western suburbs.
With your support, we will continue connecting young people in Melbourne’s west to African culture and community and running Australia’s first African Library, Arts and History Museum.
