Back in the Bus: BC to SK

I'm Casey Munro, the mom, and driver of the Munro Bus. My husband, Jesse Munro, is the #1 Dad in the world, and the disabled passenger extraordinaire.

Our children are AdaLynn, Mack, and Linkyn who are the best bus crew anyone could ask for!

We came to Vancouver Island for a vacation to visit family and work on our wheelchair accessible bus for Jesse Munro. Jesse has a difficult time being out in his wheelchair now, so we bought a bus, put a hospital bed in it, and set out to have some family adventures.

After air conditioning crises and a two-week hospital stay for Jesse, we thought we were finally on the road again when disaster struck. Our transmission unexpectedly came to the end of its life. We managed to get to a campground in Courteney, BC, to wait for shops to open after the long weekend, then got a quote from the shop there. We didn't have options for further accommodations there so we had the bus towed back to Nanaimo.

The funds we are raising are enough to cover the cost of the hospital bed we rented for Jesse (because the one in the bus is bolted down) $250, a rental car for a week (so the kids and I are able to go where we needed while the bus is in the shop) $550, and the transmission and labour $10,250 (but I did ask the shop to see if they could lower the price somehow). We have already been here about 2 weeks longer than we planned, so we need to fix the bus asap and start heading East toward HOME!

Any extra funds we raise would be used to further improve the bus for any future travels (ideas include: curtains or blinds, bike rack, roof-top deck, better power solutions to meet all our heating and cooling needs...), and allow us to experience the sights on the way home from Vancouver Island (ideas include: Vancouver Aquarium, Enchanted Forest, Calaway Park, Canyon Coaster...)
