The Ballyfermot BMX Club is seeking your support.
Our mission is to create a community-based BMX club that will encourage and foster increased levels of participation in sporting and community activities.
Participation within the Ballyfermot BMX Club will promote an improved sense of community, promote positive future prospects for young people, create a diversion from anti-social tendencies and aim to adopt a more purposeful use of social time for all young people who would like to join.

In the year of 2012, young people from Ballyfermot made a presentation to local government as part of a campaign to build a Skate Park for Ballyfermot.
After a gruelling 8 years of dedication and hard work, we are now proud to say we succeeded. We now have a wonderful Skate and Play Park in which we will be forever proud of.
However, Our Journey Is Only Just Beginning.
This club has been proudly supported by the local Ballyfermot Youth Service who have helped lead the 8-year campaign and actively echoed the voice of young people throughout the process. Ballyfermot Youth Service have guided us through all the necessary processes of the development and running of an amazing BMX Club. Ballyfermot Youth Service have also supplied everything that was needed for the establishment of our club, including bikes, instruction, staff, safety equipment, guidance and support and not to forget most of all the belief in the ability of the Ballyfermot young people.
The BMX Club is already proving to be a positive and popular resource within the Ballyfermot community. It has powerfully attracted a new generation of young people and has the potential to be a world-class club based within a world-class facility.

It is now time for our club to follow our dream of becoming a stand-alone community-based organisation through our own wings and operations.
This has always been the long term plan for the BMX Club and will increase the overall potential and opportunity for all those who are willing and waiting to become part of this amazing journey.
Young people who become part of this journey will naturally inherit important life skills that are proven to create improved educational, employment and lifestyle opportunities.

The dreams and visions of our club are based on the purchasing of the following essential equipment.
Official Club Membership With Cycle Ireland - Membership fees should not be outside the financial reach of young people from disadvantaged areas.
A Full Fleet Of BMX Bikes And Additional Items.
All Necessary Safety Equipment - Helmets, Knee Pads, Elbow Pads, Safety Mats And Training Bikes.
Tools And Bike Servicing Equipment -To Help Us Run Bike Maintenance Workshops With Young People.
First-Aid Equipment And Training - To be made available to all club members.
A Large Selection Of Cleaning Equipment - Required for community clean-ups. An important part of this club is the upkeep of the over-all park by community members.
Administration Equipment - Laptop, Admin Essentials and Information Recording Software And Files.
Food Preparation Items. Items to help us prepare and offer to those who are most in at-risk and in need of basic essentials.
Food Cloud Registration Fee. We would like to provide our member with an afterschool opportunity that includes a healthy meal and hydration during participation.

Further Information -The Ballyfermot Community Action Group is a subgroup formed out of the BMX Club. This club encourages community action and activism through daily clean-ups at the park by local young people. This Community Action Group has become a vital part of the BMX Club and creates an opportunity for young people to increase their community engagement and sense of belonging and place.
