Men Matter Scotland is raising awareness to support the need for Men’s Suicide Prevention 

Men Matter Scotland (MMS) now has over 700 members. The charity is campaigning during Mental Health Awareness week because the need for our services is greater than ever. As a suicide prevention charity we need the public’s support to continue our work supporting men with mental health in the West of Scotland. 

Mental Health is at a tipping point as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic and the peer-to-peer network and services that Men Matter Scotland offer is saving lives. 

 If we are to meet our ambitions to be there for all the men who come through our doors, then we need the public support to help us continue our charity work. There are many organisations that exist to support women in Scotland, but fewer that support men. But the irony of this is that suicide in men in Scotland is at an all-time high and resources in mental health welfare have never been harder to find. MMS exists to provide a link in the chain that provides men with mental health support and resources. MMS places men at the heart of what we do. We fundamentally believe that in today’s society of fairness, tolerance and equality, men really do matter.
