Ben Nevis Climb For Agnes
Donation protected
My friend Laura’s mum, Agnes, very suddenly suffered a spinal stroke which left her paralysed in December 2018 - however through some incredible mental strength and rehabilitation she has managed to regain some movement but the family were told in April that she sadly will never walk again and will also require a hoist to be able to transfer into a wheelchair from now on.
Hospital rehabilitation have done all they can now and adaptations must be made to her new bungalow to ensure she can go home and start this new chapter with as much comfort and independence as possible.
Agnes’s family & friends have held numerous fundraising events to help fund these adaptations. They have raised a whopping £7,000 but are still so far from their target of £15,000. Agnes is ready to leave hospital now but unfortunately is unable to until the adjustments have been made. You can find out more about their fundraising here - https://adaptionsforagnes.yolasite.com/
After a disastrous blow where our original event was cancelled by the organisers, myself, Laura, Sam and Angela set ourselves a more outrageous and tougher challenge to end the fundraising with a bang. On Saturday 31st August we will climb Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain! And we have roped in a team to help us reach our goal!!!
The unlucky 13 - who are they?!
Laura Bolam - Agnes’s daughter
Sam Pittiglio - Laura’s friend from the North East
Maria Dunville - Laura’s friend from the North East
Angela Ferguson - Laura’s friend from the North East, but originally from Scotland!
Laura Linden - Laura’s friend from the North East also originally from Scotland!
Dawn Tighe - Agnes’s daughter
David Bolam - Agnes’s son in law, Laura’s partner
Tony McElhinney - Agnes’s son
Iain Patterson - Tony’s best friend from back in the day and a life long friend of all the family
Liam Madden - a life long friend of all the family
Courtney Kruger - Agnes’s daughter in law, Paul’s partner and our Australian element
Please dig deep to help us with this great cause!
