Bhive place2bee mens club Grantham Parachute jump

I'm Cllr Elvis Stooke District Cllr within Grantham Lincolnshire. When I was elected in May 2023 I vowed to support a local charity, where I came across the Bhive Place2Bee mens club run by South Lincolnshire Blind society. This club is for men who suffer from mental health issues, it is a place where they can come together and discuss their issues in confidence with the volunteer staff members and even discuss with each other. Also to find positive steps going forward in their day to day living. When they meet on Mondays and Thursdays they have the opportunity to get hot food and Hot drinks. All these men come from different backgrounds from Foster care to military to the everyday man. I already support this group with donating money from my Cllr payment which I shall continue to do for the full term of me bring a Cllr.

So the question is why do I want to raise £5000?

Firstly as this is a charity everything they do is through donations and within Grantham we don't have many services that support men with mental health. It is very important that we give men a place to be open and honest about their issues and where they can feel safe and confident in doing so.

So for me doing this parachute jump and raising £5000 will secure the funds for the future going forward. Finally if these men can get through each day with their issues I'm sure I can parachute out of a plane for their future.
