Big Reading Challenge 2023

My name is Councillor Cheryl Barnard. In Nottingham we have been taking part in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for a number of years this scheme gifts books to children from birth to age five. It gives so many young people in the city access to age-appropriate books, which can inspire, entertain and educate them. We are reliant on donations to do this. Therefore we are taking part in a Big Reading Challange, reading to children across the city at schools, libraries and other sites to raise more donations. We are seeking to get £5,000 so that we can continue to take part in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and make a big difference to the youngest people in our city. Any donations will be sent to Nottingham Rotary Club Trust Fund. RCN 510915. This fund manages the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and will handle donations and ensure they are used to buy and gift books to children aged 0-5 in the city.
