Bread & Thorns Mutual Aid Collective was formed in October of 2022 with the goal of establishing a mutual aid network within the Oakland homeless and housed communities. Toward that goal, we prepare and distribute food once a week, procure and distribute necessities whenever possible, help connect our unhoused neighbors with services, and work to establish relationships with both housed and unhoused community members.
