Last fall, I ran a competitive race amongst a very crowded field of individuals for a seat on the St. Paul School Board.  My campaign worked on a shoestring budget with lots of volunteers and on election night we watched the returns come through.  That Tuesday evening, while our campaign was not victorious, we enjoyed meeting so many residents and engaging in very open and honest conversations regarding our students, our schools and our teachers.

This election cycle is unique for a number of reasons; first, COVID-19 has essentially upturned the way that we work and live and play.  Thus, in person campaign events are probably sidelined at the moment.  Secondly, St. Paul School Board seats are usually only available on odd years, alternating between 4 and 3 seats becoming available to make up the 7 seat board panel. This election is occurring during a time when many of us will want to vote, there is a National Election where we will select the President of the United States.  This one seat is open because a wonderful member of the St. Paul community, Marny Xiong contracted COVID-19 and passed on June 7th, 2020.

My run for St. Paul School Board is one rooted in needing to help others. I want to use my talents and energy to help students, schools and teachers.

I'm committed to making the most impact with all community members helping to reach that goal.
