Chuck Humburg Music For All Foundation

As a former history teacher and basketball coach, Chuck Humburg cherished education and music. He was kind and compassionate, and quietly did good deeds to help students in need. Nothing brought him greater joy than a day of music shared with loved ones and friends. It didn't matter whether that was attending one of hundreds of concerts around the country, participating in music trivia nights, dancing and singing with friends, or bringing his bag of instruments to everyone he spent time with, often inviting them to grab one and play along. He bought instruments for children of friends to help foster their love of music and took lessons himself to learn to play several  instruments in the past few years including mandolin, harmonica, piano and guitar.

During the spring quarantine, he was worried about his hundreds of friends and family dealing with the fear and isolation that came with the pandemic. He created "Quarantine Buddies", and spent hours each day each day creating musical Facebook posts that included songs, history of the song or group, interesting stories and facts, and then connecting that song or musician to another song in the post with even more interesting information. He also made videos of himself playing his instruments to send to friends to make them smile and feel connected to the world. We have heard from so many friends  just how special these posts were in their life during a very difficult, unsettling time. He understood that music is a wonderful gift that connects us all and soothes the soul.

Chuck tragically lost his life to COVID -19 on 11/10/20 after a long fight, and his family and friends would love to carry his musical legacy forward in his honor to continue the good work he quietly did for other people. We have created the Chuck Humburg Music For All Foundation, and have a 501 (C)3 pending. We hope to raise money to provide funds for music therapy, purchasing instruments and instruction, and scholarships to benefit underserved students and special needs students. We invite you to join us in this important work as we honor Chuck Humburg's legacy!
