Climbing Helvellyn for my son & for charity.

Hi ..my name is Allison ....I am Joshua's Mum....My son took his own life on October 11th 2021...he was only 22 years of age and thought the world would be a better place without him & fighting the demons in his head took its toll too ...On Friday 8th October he decided to go on a long drive ...he used to do this to clear his head ...he ended up in Scotland..before he left he gave me the biggest ..tightest hug and said ....Dont forget I love you Mum!...I was so worried as I knew he was depressed...and I knew after that hug something was so wrong.. .... but ..on the Saturday he called me and said he was OK and just living out of his van ..travelling places ..basically looking for Fluffy cows (Highland cows)......so I thought he would be home soon...But little did I know .
He came back on Sunday 10th October and popped into work to see me ...said he was going to the Lakes...as he left he turned round and said again..I Love You Mum ......That was the last time I saw my boy alive ...the next time he was laid in a casket ....he had took himself off to where his half brothers Memorial is (Ullswater)...and opposite there he took his own life ...
I struggled as my world had gone very dark knowing I couldnt save my baby and I couldn't see any way out and just wanted to be with my boy .when he died...I died too!.

A few months later I was recommended The Russ Devereux Headlight Project...I was given one of their wonderful Councillors.....she has helped me so much..its fair to say that without them..I myself may not be here. This is why my daughter Kathryn & I want to climb Helvellyn. As well as the fact Josh wanted to do it one day too....We will do it for him AND raise some money for the charity too...so.. We both will be doing this on his 2 year anniversary...11th October and when we are up at the top...We will let some of my boys ashes go....he will have climbed this with us  and what a view he will have .

Would you like join us in making a difference? raising money in aid of The Russ Devereux Headlight Project and any donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
