Community Fridge at The Garden!

UPDATED TO ADD: Thanks to the generosity of all our friends and neighbors, WE REACHED OUR INITIAL GOAL of $2,000 to get our fridge up and running! This campaign now exists as a fundraising site to keep the refrigerator stocked with fresh food year-round. All donations will now be funneled directly into food purchases to feed our community!

The Garden Café is quickly becoming a go-to spot in the Northside for coffee, pastries, free plants & free books -- and now we want to provide free food as well!

 

Community refrigerators are popping up all over the country as a way to promote food security and eliminate food waste (you can learn more about community fridges here ), and we are eager to bring this very idea to The Garden. All donations to this fundraiser will be put towards purchasing a refrigerator, installing an outdoor electrical outlet, construction of a shelter for the fridge, and the initial stocking of food, with any leftover funds funneled towards electricity costs.
