Conner Dockery Medical Accident Relief Fund

This is my 14 year old son Conner Dockery, on Monday October 19th, he experienced a seizure during his morning shower before school causing him to blackout. During the blackout he fell in the shower and accidentally grabbed the shower knob turning it clear to the hottest temperature. He was unable to call out for help as the hot water directly scorched his upper body. As I went down the hall to the bathroom to check on Conner since the shower was taking longer than usual, mother intuition kicked in when he didn't respond through the door as I opened the door he was trying to  stand back up in the shower and kept repeating "I don't feel well, I don't feel well" I knew something was very wrong and was able to get him out of the shower and into his room and called 911. The degree of his burns were so severe he had to be transported to St. Elizabeth Burn Center in Lincoln, NE. On arrival he was wrapped in bandages. It was determined that he had severe 3rd degree burns on his chest, stomach, arms, both his sides, 70 percent of his back. It was also determined that 26% of his skin was burned. Conner has to undergo at least 4 surgeries to try and correct the damage. During further testing to determine the cause of this seizure like episode they found that both of his Kidney's are not functioning properly. He was diagnosed with Hydroephrosis, and Renal Artery Stenosis in his left and right Kidneys. They also found abnormalities on his EEG (a test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain) which would explain his seizure he experienced. His first surgery is scheduled on October 23rd to remove the burnt skin and place integra on his back. Second surgery is on October 26th to remove the burnt skin and place the integra on his chest, and arms. The 3rd surgery is to apply the skin graft on the back. The 4th surgery is to apply the skin graft to his chest and arms. This skin will be taken from his inner thighs and buttock. The process will be done throughout the next month. The donations will help with travel expenses, to and from the Burn Center and the Kidney/Neurologist  Doctor in Omaha.
