Dare to Care - Swim the Sunshine Coast

Hi, it's Brendan Neil here. I'm just one of the many swimmers who over 20yrs has done the annual Island Charity Swim for the kids of the Sunshine Coast Special Schools. COVID has really impacted the schools with the 2020 event cancelled and 2021 having less than half the regular participants. To try to help out I'm going to attempt to swim solo from Kings Beach to Noosa. That's around 63km of swimming on the wrong side of the shark nets! Our recent lockdown has put me back a week.  I'll start Friday Aug 13th (my 51st Birthday) finishing on Sunday....but I may get excited and try to finish in 2 days. All money raised goes to the registered charity managed by the Special Schools on the Sunshine Coast. The schools have used funds in the past to build sensory playgrounds, interactive whiteboards, learning resources a wheelchair bus and contribution to school hydrotherapy pool. Thanks for your support - you've made a big impact on the lives of the awesome kids, families and staff of the Special Schools.
