Dean Holman's Kidney Transplant

Dean Holman, a beloved member of the Branson community has been in need of a kidney for over 3 1/2 years.  His friends, fans and family have waited as several opportunities presented themselves and then just didn't work out.  However - their prayers have been answered and this morning at 7am Dean Holman underwent surgery for his kidney transplant at KU Medical. He is in recovery now but due to COVID Kelly is not even able to enter the hospital.  She has to get updates by phone from the doctors and nurses caring for him.  She was able to speak to him this afternoon but I can only imagine how hard it is not to be able to see him right now.  Dean will spend the next few days in the hospital and then transfer to a hotel near the hospital where he will have to stay for the following three weeks.  Kelly will also stay in Kansas City with him but they will be quarantined to the hotel room except for dr. visits during their stay.  Twice a month after Dean is released from care they will have to travel to Kansas City for check ups.

Many of you have reached out to see how you can help so I thought this would be the best way for Kelly to keep us updated on his progress and for his friends to help.  As you expect they will have many expenses during the next few weeks and even months.  

I can't ever think of a time when this family isn't ready to help someone out who has been in need and I would love for us to be able to relieve some of their burden now.  Any amount will help.

UPDATE!!! He's in recovery and all went very well. The kidney is already producing urine. As long as the kidney continues to "wake up" no dialysis will be necessary. The recovery nurse says his pain is moderate and he rates it a 5. I'm sure he will call me as soon. As he gets to his room. Thank you friends for your thoughts, prayers, calls, texts and virtual hugs. The power of prayer is very real.
