Fight the Big C

Hi, my name is Dean and I’m just an average guy working away paying the bills and trying to get by as one does. I’ve probably never been amazing at that task most of the time but I’ve managed to keep paying the rent and keep working away trying to progress a little more each year round. Maybe I’m just a slow starter or late bloomer ‍when it comes to that. Either way, I’ve found myself in a situation that I am unprepared for.

Recently I’ve been diagnosed with bowel cancer and although I’m hopeful of a full recovery the road there is going to impact me more than physically. I’ve just spent 18 days in hospital where they performed an ileostomy and I’ve used up any funds I had in reserve during this time. All the annual leave and sick leave has now vanished and I still have some major hurdles to overcome in the months ahead.

I need another operation to remove the cancer with likely chemo to shrink it first before removal and then reverse the ileostomy. However, as this is seemingly in quick succession after the first operation I’ve not had a chance to build up any further leave or funds to help me pay that rent and any living expenses during the required period I’d need for recovery.

Hence why I’m here asking for help, I’m not wanting to ask to be honest, I just don’t know how I manage to get the finances done.

If you could assist me in even the smallest way and that can just be a message of support, it would still be appreciated.

I’ll get there, with your help I’ll get there without the fear of being able to pay my expenses and just concentrate on fighting the fight!
