Emergency TTA Operation for Nova

Donation protected
Hello, please let me introduce 10 year old Nova, the Malamute.

Nova has been with me for 8 and half years now. He was adopted after 2 previous owners were just the worst and has spent his remaining years by my side enjoying life. Last year in September 2025 Nova sadly had to have his rear right leg be operated on to have a TTA installed. This was because of genetics with the animal and I was told the other leg could go at anytime. I was hoping for the best I also didn't think it would be this soon but sadly on Wednesday the 11th February 2026 his left leg went!

Nova has been such a huge part of my life, he is my working dog as I'm a K9 Behaviourist and is with me every single day. Because of this I'm unable to work and am forced to fund by other means. He is my shadow and I just can't face the alternative that I am faced on this crossroad right now. Nova is so full of life, he's 10 but acts 5. He doesn't deserve this at all.

I'm reaching out for any aid as is my last hope in that I can get this procedure done asap so he doesn't suffer for too long and because the longer it takes to be done, the weaker the current recovering leg will get. He's been doing so well in recovery as well, I wish I could upload the hydro therapy videos of him in action.

I'm being quoted £5000+ for his left leg. This covers the x-rays for measurements, the operation itself and recovery for a few sessions. I would also assume he will need a dog wheel chair to help recover.

I simply can't afford this as I'm already trying to recover from the first leg operation. Since his operation last year we've spent over £8000+ having the procedure to hydro therapy and other medical bills. £2000+ on changing the household to allow him more access to move around in it. Insurance won't cover him anymore because of his age and the totals are just going up and up.

Currently he is on Arthrocam and Pardale for the pain but is unable to walk, I'm having to carry him to the garden to let him relieve himself at 35kg (77lbs). He is able to just stand long enough for 1's & 2's but then requires to be carried back. He is able to drink and eat. He is spending all his time on my bed/basket with no other options right now. He is still playing with his toys, but there is a depression glooming over him as he wants to do more than he can do.

If you can please help, it would truly mean the world to me to get him back up and moving again to re-join his big brother Nix. If you can't donate, please spread the word as it will help others.

Thank you so much!

Extras:
TTA stands for Tibial Tuberosity Advancement. This helps aid movement in the leg as the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CrCL) has ruptured. The procedure involves cutting the tibial tuberosity, advancing it forward using a titanium cage and plate, and securing it in place!
