EMU PARADE

Donation protected
In incredible news, Coffee Supreme and Future Super have come to the Emu Parade party as official sponsors. LEGIT!!!

This means that with the donations that came through over the last week, the fundraising target has been reached. So it's time to call it with crowdfunding and concentrate on finishing the truck, to clean up the beach.

To everyone that donated, that's what has vaulted Emu Parade into this position. So thank you.

From here please follow Emu [email redacted]anup on Instagram and Youtube, where I'll be sharing the journey of getting coffee machinery installed into the truck, to be powered by batteries, which get recharged with used cooking oil. With ongoing thanks of course to Future Super and Coffee Supreme for getting Trish over the line.

She's so close. Two weeks I reckon, three tops. Then as soon as we're hooked up and ready, the schedule will be posted and we can get stuck into cleanups.

See you there! Roly

[update]

27-07-2023 hoooly jamunji the halfway point has officially been reached!!! Only thanks to the crazy generosity of family, friends, strangers and angels. The tribe is assembling.

To everyone that has donated, THANK YOU from the very bottom of my salty heart.

With your help, I've been able to build the canopy on the back of Trish, and execute the master plan. Full scale cafe operation, powered by batteries, recharged by an abundant hospitality waste stream. Designed to hand out exquisite beverages to volunteers who pick up rubbish. Emu Parade is roaring to life.

The final hurdle is the huge batteries to power the coffee machine. They're mapped out and sourced for less than I originally calculated, but still thousands of dollars away. If you aren't in a position to donate, please share this with anyone who you think could help spread the Emu Parade story and get us over the line. It's time to take Trish down to the beach, and get her off the leash. How soon and how often, is up to you.

I'm beyond excited to dig deep and tackle trash with deliciousness once and for all !!!!!

[long]

G'day! Thank you for showing Emu Parade some love. I really need your help.

I’ve been working on this project for a long time. Long enough that this is actually the second Mitsubishi firetruck I’ve converted to run on used cooking oil - I drove the first one 40000kms around Australia picking up rubbish in remote areas before running out of money and having to sell it.

After that, I spent 2021 working 7-day weeks for the entire year. (No joke.)

Back on the coffee machine, day in day out, so that by the start of 2022, I’d scraped together enough to buy another firetruck and go for round 2.

2023 is the year. I’ve tested the concept, learnt the big lessons, and done the heavy troubleshooting already. Vegetable oil is an abundant waste product of virtually every food outlet in Australia, and as it's made from plants, has already pulled CO2 out of the atmosphere in its production.

Infinitely better for the environment than diesel!

Capturing the excess electricity produced by the truck as it runs on used cooking oil is authentically carbon neutral energy, to be used for cleaner oceans and having a GOOD time caring for the planet.

… and everyone loves free refreshments.

I’ve spent everything I have on this already, literally every last penny, but as you can see in the video, the truck still isn’t quite finished. The last major hurdle is the battery system.

I've registered Emu Parade as a not-for-profit, but before I can organise any more cleanups, I need a real espresso machine on deck so I can thank people properly who help me pick up rubbish.

$40000 will cover the batteries and battery management system ($20k) and a secure weatherproof canopy with coffee service equipment and machinery inside ($20k). Once this is built, I can hit the coast harder than ever and begin supplying delicious plant-powered coffees in exchange for picking up rubbish.

Caffeinated cleanups, coming to a beach near you! Follow the journey on Instagram at @ep.cleanup.

Thank you again for showing Emu Parade your love, and please share this as far and wide as you can. Every bit counts.

Big love,
Roly
