In Loving Memory of Michael Bourke

After lunch on March 24th 2022, a mother lost her child, a fiance lost her husband-to-be, siblings lost their brother, and three children lost their father. Michael Bourke (Bourkey) tragically passed away in a heartbreaking double fatality involving himself and two other vehicles. The toll on his family, friends, and community has been tremendous, and there has been an outpour of emotion following this disaster.

 

Living with his family in Sandy Beach Michael was a kind, loving, and generous character who would always go above and beyond in all situations for his family and friends. He was the loudest and funniest voice in the room, always quick with a joke, and above all, a great fiance to his partner and father to his sons.

As an aged and disability care worker, his work showed his passion for helping others, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Being the oldest in his tight-knit group of friends, he was affectionately known as Daddy to both his friends and family, which reflected his caring yet cheeky charisma. We will miss you Bourkey; you were a Daddy to us all.
