New Roof for the Room 8 Kitties!

Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation is a private, non-profit sanctuary founded in 1972 by Hettie L. Perry.
Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home before the current shelter in Riverside, California was built in 1986. The no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed. Room 8 is now run by a part-time manager and assistant manager, with help from a dedicated core of volunteers. I am one of those volunteers.
The cattery consists of one large building divided into several rooms, each with an inside area and a screened in outside area for the cats who currently reside there. The roof on the building is the original one put on in 1986 with patches and repairs done to it throughout the last 30 years. (This is an actual photo of the roof today!) Needless to say, a new roof is way overdue!
Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation does not receive any city, county, or federal funds. They depend on donations from private citizens to help care for the cats and the upkeep on the building.
Any donations given through this Go Fund Me campaign will go towards paying for the new roof. It isn't a campaign to raise funds that will be used eventually, it is a campaign to help pay for a project that needs to be done as soon as possible! The prospect of El Nino, which still may come to this area, makes it even more urgent.
Every dollar counts and every dollar is greatly appreciated. Please give if you wish to help keep the kitties safe and dry! Thank you!
