Asking for some truly desperately needed help on behalf of my friends Steven Sadecki and Louise Lloyd who have a son with long term illness. This is Oliver James their beautiful four year old boy who has sadly had to face so many challenges already in his short life. To briefly give you a picture of his condition which is so rare he’s undiagnosed, Ollie has severe epilepsy including tonic clonic, myoclonic and absent seizures. Deletion chromosome 3 and duplication of chromosome 16. Severe bilateral ptosis (unable to open his eyes) registered blind. 60% hearing loss in his right ear and 40% in his left. V. S. D (holes in the heart) with mild branch pulmonary stenosis. He’s globally delayed, unable to sit, stand and support himself. He has been in and out of hospital countless times, home and away having to leave their eldest son behind for long periods. The last of which ollie was on a ventilator for 42 Days and now has a trachy (breathing tube in airways) Fitted. 6 months prior to this hospital stay in Manchester he was admitted to a hospital in Stoke through illness triggered by a common cold and was ventilated for 2 weeks again. As you can imagine all of this is putting incredible strain on the family. The daily routine currently, as ollies seizures are so severe and frequent is one or two hours sleep in a 24 hour period for both parents. Steven has had to step down from his management role at work to be with his son as ollies condition has worsened. With all work holidays and sick days used up with previous hospital trips out of town and to stay with him through illness, The basics financially aren’t being met through no fault of their own. This is not missing work through choice it’s two exhausted parents too petrified to leave their child’s side in case the worst happened and they were not there for their beautiful boy. I cannot stress enough what a serious, unfair, horrific situation these two loving parents find themselves in. Food, mortgage, bills, expenses piling up on a couple who are just trying to do what’s right for their child. So I’m asking if you can spare anything, a penny, a pound, anything. I promise you, you will be doing something incredibly worthwhile for a beautiful family trying to survive in such hellish circumstances. Lessening their financial stress at such a difficult time would mean so much to them and give them the right to concentrate on their sons health. Please share far and wide wherever you can and if you can give what you can. Thank you.
