I woke up on September 9th to a text from my mom which informed me that 3 of her siblings had lost their homes in the fires that incinerated Talent/Phoenix, Oregon. I called my aunts/uncles and felt relief as all 3 families reassured me they were safe. While all 3 families are safe and healthy, everything they worked so hard for has been stripped from them in a matter of hours. I would appreciate your help in relieving some of the financial burdens that will be associated with starting over. Please donate if you can, as well as share.
A little bit about each family:
Moises’ family consists of his wife, Marilu, his two sons, Erik and David, and his two 6-month-old twin girls, Sofia and Natalia. Moises and Marilu had recently begun to expand their landscaping business, but the vast majority of their equipment and tools are all gone now. With no home insurance and no work equipment, their financial need is extensive.
Fili’s family consists of his wife Marcela, his daughter Mariela, his little boy Angel, and his 1-month-old Kevin. Fili and Marcela had an event decorating/rental business. Thousands of dollars worth of inventory, equipment, and legal documents are all gone. This family has no home insurance and will have to start from zero, too.
Esther and Omar form part of a 2-person family. As a single mother, Esther has worked incredibly hard and has been successful in providing for her and her son. Esther was just beginning to delve deeper into the house-cleaning business, however, all of her supplies, as well as everything else in her home has burned down. Like the other two families, Esther and Omar have no home insurance and will need any help they can receive to fund a long-term living situation.
*I have spoken to all 3 families over the phone and while there is sadness and hurt in their voices, there is also such resilience and hope in their words. Please please please help me provide some financial support to the most selfless, caring, loving, and hard-working people I know *
