For Cara Williams turners syndrome clinic

Hi, 

My name is Siana and I am looking forward to completing a tandem skydive on 9th June 2023 at Tilstock airfield UK! This has been organised with my university, University centre Reaseheath, Nantwich!

I am am raising for the Turner syndrome clinic at Liverpool womens hospital. Having mosaic Turner syndrome myself, I have been cared for by a range of different amazing specialists and I wanted to show my gratitude for how well I have being cared for in the clinic. The transition from Alderhey childrens hospital to Liverpool womens hospital has comfortably helped me to transition with my condition from childhood into early adulthood. I always wonder what further struggles I would have faced without these diligent and hardworking individuals.

I also wanted to raise awareness on this condition as it’s not well known. This is also the start of my raising awareness journey.

Turners syndrome effects 1 in every 2,500 live births. Turners syndrome is a genetic chromosomal defect resulting in damaged, broken or deleted chromosomes. The characteristics are webbed neck: hooded eyelids, and are short in stature (most have to go through growth hormone injections from an early age but many are unaware they have the condition so growth can be delayed). Issues that can occur from Turner syndrome are: infertility issues, ear issues, kidney issues, and heart issues. In addition to neurodevelopment, educational, and social struggles.
