Spring Formal Event 2022

The Lincoln Academy Class of 2022 has dealt with various hardships due to COVID-19, including missing the past two proms that the school would have run. Prom is the only formal event that the school runs for the students, and all of the seniors want our last prom, and to some, their first prom, to be remarkable. Being told that prom was being held in the Dining Commons on-campus was a surprise to most, considering that an LA prom hasn't been on campus for the past eight years. There was not a lot of cooperation in an attempt to negotiate the location, which was immensely disheartening. A group of seniors and some supportive parents have decided to plan a Spring Formal Event at Lakehurst Barn. Upperclassmen are welcome to attend with the purchase of a ticket, as well as one for a partner they may choose to bring. That partner must be 20 years old or younger, as long as whoever is younger is still in high school. To make this plan a reality, we rely on community members' donations and the prices of tickets to cover the cost of the venue, decorations, catering, and music. Any residual money that is raised will help pay for the seniors' class gift to the school. The Class of 2022 is known for the students' resilience and determination, including in the planning of this Formal Spring Event. There will be volunteer chaperones for the event, as well as a member of the Lincoln County Police Department at the venue. Even though a dance may seem small to some, we view it as an important rite of passage in our high school careers. We hope that members of the community may choose to support us in our endeavor to make this event as memorable as possible for those involved. Thank you.
