Making Memories

Macy was born on 24th April 2004 following a non-complicated pregnancy.  One morning at 7 months old Griff and Michelle noticed changes in her development pattern, she was constantly screaming and struggling to lift her head, they took her to the doctors who referred them to a specialist on that same day who ran some blood tests and a lumber puncture.
A few days after these tests, it was discovered that Macy was blind and the test showed that further issues would more than likely follow.  At 8 months old Macy was diagnosed with a rare condition called Canavan disease.  Griff and Michelle were left with the devastating news to process that Macy had a limited life expectancy of 3 years, the  condition is extremely rare, for two parents to be carrying the gene is millions to one.
Recently Macy suffered an illness so severe that she received intensive care in hospital, it was a tough time for Griff and Michelle  but thankfully Macy pulled through and is now recovering at home.
We would love to raise enough money so that Griff and Michelle can one day be able to take Macy abroad but due to the medical care and equipment she requires it is a costly activity for them to leave the UK.
