Sarah N & Flicka's Autumn Alpujarran Adventure

This Autumn, Sarah Nestler is taking on a unique challenge. She will walk from the Ranch, through the Alpujarran mountains on a circular route, every day for ten days, covering between 10 and 20km a day. Flicka will be her pack horse and companion throughout. Staying with friends of friends and camping out, it will be a test of her physical and mental strength.
Sarah N is a past guest of Caballo Blanco and has been inspired by the beauty of the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, where the Ranch is situated. Not only that, the rescue work done there for horses, cats, dogs, geese, ducks and chickens, touched her heart.
This challenge she has set herself is designed to raise much needed funds to help the Ranch survive, despite the devastating impact on tourism due to the global pandemic. With the money raised, Caballo Blanco will be able to continue to feed and care for the animals they have currently at the Ranch and get through the quiet winter months in order to receive guests again in 2021. Hopefully the pandemic will be more under control by then and life can start to go back to normal in terms of travel and tourism safety.
