Can you help a transition age youth maintain their recovery in behavioral and mental wellness?
Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children, Inc. (KPFC) is partnering with Transition Age Youth Launching Realized Dreams (TAYLRD) to provide basic cell phones with data plans and hotspots to transition age youth across the Commonwealth, so that they have access to behavioral health services via telehealth. Many of these young people are homeless, live in poverty and/or live in rural areas of Kentucky where connectivity may be difficult.
We are starting small with a focus on providing telehealth opportunities for twenty transition age youth (TAY) across the Commonwealth. For each young person, it cost approximately $225; this amount includes the cell phone, hotspot, and a one-month data plan. Once we meet this goal, we will continue providing monthly data plans ($45 per month) for these twenty as funds allow.
If funds collected exceeds the first twenty young people, we will expand the project to offer this gift of behavioral and mental wellness to other young people and their families. We will continue to support the "Funds for Connection" Project until COVID-19 is over and our state returns to our "new normal."
Thank you for supporting our transition age youth across Kentucky!
