"I have cancer... These are three words that I hoped we never had to say. We decided this would be the easiest way to keep our friends and family up to date on the journey we have been dealt.
As some of you already know, Thursday evening turned into a whirlwind of events. I went into the ER for what we thought were the effects from previous concussions. Come to find out, it was not trauma related, but lung and brain cancer.
We have been at UCHealth Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora since Friday, and will probably be here for a few days. Our schedule is dependent on the professionals trying to determine the best plan of attack.
We have so many questions that can't be answered yet and are waiting as patiently as we can. You can bet your ass that this will be a fight I will win, with an abundance of stubbornness!
A special thanks to Steamboat Springs PD family, North Routt Fire Family, Steamboat Fire Rescue family, Yampa Valley Medical Center (UC Health) ER staff, our neighbors, and everyone else who has called, texted, and visited."
