Get Amber and Chris Funds to Move to a New Home

Donation protected
My name is Amber, I live in Chelsea, VIC, AU. I live with my 76 year old Nan, we are both pensioners and neither of us are employed. We have been renting the place we live in. On the 29th of October 2021 extreme cyclonic winds hit the entire Mornington Peninsula area, but hit our suburb especially hard. So hard that the very roof of our house was ripped away from the building. It was terrifying. In addition to our house being ripped apart, the debris landed on my car and damaged it beyond repair. It was a miracle all of the tenants in this set of units escaped without harm.

This fund is to raise money so that my Nan and I can find somewhere new to live and pay for new furniture and other necessities as the damage to the building is so extensive it is highly unlikely it will be safe enough to retrieve most of our belongings - including our beds, washing machine, dryer, couches, TV and coffee table. I would also like to raise some money to replace my car. I am 26, disabled, and my car was the only true asset I had. I have not been able to find work because of the pandemic, and consequently I do not have the money to buy a new car, not even a secondhand one.

We do not have anywhere to take our things or anywhere we can stay for any significant amount of time. Currently my Nan and I are staying in crisis accomodation, but we need a new place to stay, and when we do I am worried we will be in an empty house.

I am desperate. We have lost so much in this storm. Any and every donation will be greatly appreciated and will go to replacing the things that have been damaged or lost by this natural disaster.

Below are photos of my car and our house to give you an idea to the extent of the damage and how unsafe it is in the building. What I wrote at the beginning is not an exaggeration - the roof of the house is completely gone and our bedrooms are exposed to the elements.

Thank you for reading, and again, any help is greatly appreciated.
