Give Self-Defense Kits to the CA Asian Community

Violence against Asians in the U.S. has risen nearly 150% in the last year alone . This has culminated in a disturbing wave of physical assaults and murders of our community’s elders , as well as the mass shooting of Asian massage parlor workers in Atlanta. 

Asian Defense Fund is an LA-based mutual aid group created in response to the huge uptick of violence, racism, and hate crimes against Asians since the start of the pandemic. Inspired by the badass granny Xiao Zhen Xie  who defended herself against a racist attacker in SF, we want to ensure that Asians feel safer in knowing that they're better equipped to protect themselves.

Our aim is to provide free self-defense kits to Asians living in LA (with plans to expand) to empower the most vulnerable in our community with the tools and resources for self-defense.

With the help of your donations, we'll be able to provide free self-defense kits and resources to 100+ Asians in our community—with priority given to our elders, sex workers, Black and Brown Asians, and the unhoused. Each kit is estimated to cost us $60, and our initial fundraising goal is $6000 for 100 kits.
