The Godshill Play Park Project - Fun For ALL!

Hello!

My name is Nikki Collinson-Phenix and I am the founder and project co-ordinary for The Godshill Play Park Project.

I started this project 6 years ago to bring a new play park to Godshill, not just for the children in the village but for all the children who live and/or visit the island.

My one mission, was Fun for ALL! To have a play park where children and families could play TOGETHER regardless of any challenges they may face.

To bring to the island it’s first ever wheel chair accessible swing and other wheelchair accessible equipment and to bring a mixture of textures and sensory equipment too.

Its been one hell of a journey and whilst we have overcome many hurdles we are getting closer every day to making this play park a reality!

BUT.....a play park of this size and with such specialist equipment doesn’t come cheap and if this play park is going to actually exist one day for our children to enjoy then money and fundraising is needed!

We are working with the national lottery for (fingers crossed!) funding and we as a project are contributing £20k.

We have raised half of that and we now need to close down the final 10k of our pot!

This play park is now so much more than a village play park, it’s an island play park and one that will change and enhance the lives of so many children.
