Graham K. Black Memorial Fund
This page was set up in response to the outpouring of love and support of people who knew Graham.
Graham lived by the philosophy 'If you have a dime in your pocket get your shoes shined'.
In other words: 'He lived for the day.'
This meant he wasn't always one for planning ahead or keeping anything in savings.
So with no savings or insurance, and no plan for his death, including no permanent home or car after his death, it is with great sadness and confusion that his family discovered only a small portion of his monthly income will go to supporting his wife after his death. Graham was the sole income earner in his household because of Kathy's illness. Our support would ensure she could live with the memory of Graham without having to worry about the stress of how to pay bills.
During this difficult time, friends of Graham please consider making a contribution to the Graham K Black Memorial Fund to support his memory and his wife during this overwhelming time of tears.
The family often discussed moving back East to be closer to their other family members.
Although Kathy's cancer treatments and the rise of Covid-19 kept them from doing this, the dream still exists.
But with currently no means of making that possible. Graham would not want her to worry—yet with financial hardships, there are worries—especially now that he is no longer here to care for her.
Please consider giving any amount to show your gratitude for him and what he brought to your daily life. He was an affable man who always left the room better than he found it. All proceeds will be directed to his wife Kathy to help support her through these difficult times and plan for her future.
For all those wondering how to help, a donation no matter how small would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Matt (neighbourhood friend of Graham)
