Hi, my name is Alex. I’m a dog walker in Marin County, and my car is essential for my work and for the dogs I care for every day. About one month ago, after saving for a long time, I bought a used station wagon to replace my old car that is about to die. I was fixing it and getting ready for smog so I could finally upgrade and grow my business this year. The same week, extreme high tides flooded the area. My car was caught in saltwater flooding — you may have even seen it in the news. I tried to save it by lifting it overnight, but the next morning the water came back even worse, rising up to the seats. Saltwater destroyed the electronics, computer, and wiring. The car is now not drivable and likely a total loss. Unfortunately, my insurance won’t cover it because I didn’t have comprehensive coverage at the time. To make things worse, my storage unit also flooded, destroying personal and work items. My job depends on having a vehicle, and right now I’m struggling to keep working. My clients and their dogs mean the world to me, and I want to keep supporting them as best I can. I’m not asking for luxury, just help getting back on my feet so I can continue doing what I love. Any help, sharing, or support truly means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Alexander
