Help Alexa Kick Cancer's Ass

Alexa Frey, a beautiful 22 year old girl in the prime of her life, needs our help. While on vacation in Miami last week, she broke her femur when she bumped into the bed. She was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where they discovered the bone had been compromised due to a tumor. After numerous scans, MRIs, and biopsies, Alexa has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Sarcoma.  Things have been further complicated as the repair of the leg fracture has been on hold while the doctors in Miami try to coordinate with the oncologists in Philadelphia to determine the best plan and course of treatment.  The situation is worsened by the fact that Alexa is far from her home in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Her  parents, Rick and Joey, have been staying at a hotel near the hospital since it happened. The costs associated with her care, coupled with expenses incurred due to being temporarily relocated, are a tremendous financial burden. If you know Rick and Joey, you know they are two of the most generous people around. They are always the first in line to help a community member or friend in need.  They have consistently given back to the greater Reading community over the years, by organizing fundraisers for neighbors going through hard times, collecting for the Twin Valley Food Pantry, and cultivating their beautiful sunflower fields for thousands to enjoy at no cost. These are just a few examples of their generosity and dedication to those around them. 

The events of the past week truly show how precious and fragile life is. Alexa, Rick, and Joey are now the ones in need. The medical costs associated with her current and future treatment are exorbitant. We know the family truly appreciates all of the love, support, and prayers offered thus far; but, as her friends, we are now asking if you are able to provide some financial assistance as well.  Alexa is a warrior and is ready to fight this disease with all she has.
