⚠️ Met onze inzamelingsactie en serie livestreams 'Solidarity with Alternative Amsterdam' hopen we financiële steun te verzamelen voor culturele en politieke ruimtes die worstelen om door de huidige crisis heen te komen. We zijn van mening dat in een al ongelooflijk dure en gegentrificeerde stad, het voortbestaan van deze gemeenschapsruimtes voor tegencultuur en kritische politiek cruciaal is om het sociale karakter van Amsterdam te behouden.
Het totaal opgehaalde bedrag wordt gelijk verdeeld tussen OT301, Vondelbunker en De Trut. We hopen per locatie minimaal € 1000, - op te halen.
Tegelijkertijd willen we een platform creëren waarin we lokale artiesten in de schijnwerpers zetten en virtueel samen kunnen komen om alternatieve cultuur te vieren. Op 26 februari, 5 & 12 maart gaan we om 21:00 live op radiovoorwaarts.net met een speelse en eclectische mix van visuals, muziek, film en performances.

Over de ruimtes:
⚡ OT301 is een collectieve ruimte zonder winstoogmerk die in 1999 werd gekraakt en in 2006 werd aangekocht door een diverse, internationale gemeenschap. Het is gevestigd in het voormalige gebouw van de filmacademie en biedt ruimte voor een café, galerie, club, bioscoop, studio- en woonruimte.
⚡ Vondelbunker is een autonoom cultureel centrum gerund door vrijwilligers die de overtuiging delen dat ruimte een politiek concept is. Het werd in 2011 geopend in een voormalige atoombunker onder de Vondelbrug en biedt onderdak aan een weerbarstig en dynamisch cultureel programma.
⚡ De Trut is een 35 jaar oude queer disco gerund door vrijwilligers in de kelder van het voorheen gekraakte Tetterode gebouw. Hun inkomsten helpen normaal gesproken om LGBTQI + -projecten wereldwijd te financieren. Met de opbrengst van deze actie zouden ze queer organisaties in Polen steunen.
Over Radio Voorwaarts:
Radio Voorwaarts is ontstaan als een korte film over het laatste feestje van een alternatieve gemeenschap op de vooravond van hun ontruiming. Daaruit evolueerde het tot een platform voor kunst en muziek met een DIY- en community-building mentaliteit. Veel van ons werk heeft betrekking op het discours rond gentrificatie, stadsvernieuwing en (het gebrek aan ruimte voor) tegencultuur. We hebben vooral evenementen en vertoningen georganiseerd in Amsterdam, maar ook in Berlijn, Lima, Bogotá en online.

⚠️ With our series of fund-raising live streams 'Solidarity with Alternative Amsterdam', we hope to gather financial support for cultural and political spaces struggling to get through the current crisis. In an already incredibly expensive and gentrified city, we believe that the survival of these community spaces for counterculture and critical politics is crucial to the social fabric of Amsterdam.
The total raised amount will be equally divided between OT301, Vondelbunker and De Trut. We hope to be able to raise at least €1000 per venue.
At the same time, we want to create a space where we can platform local artists and virtually come together in celebration of alternative culture. Join us on February 26, March 5 & 12 at 21:00 for a playful and eclectic mishmash of visuals, music, film and performances, live on radiovoorwaarts.net.

About the spaces:
⚡ OT301 is a not-for-profit collective space squatted in 1999 and bought in 2006 by a diverse, international community. Located in the former film academy building, OT301 houses a café, gallery, club, cinema, studio and living space.
⚡ De Vondelbunker is an autonomous cultural center run by volunteers who believe that space is a political concept. Opened in 2011 in a former atomic bunker underneath the Vondelbrug, it hosts an unruly and dynamic cultural programme.
⚡ De Trut is a 35 year-old queer disco run by volunteers in the basement of the formerly squatted Tetterode building. Their revenue normally helps fund LGBTQI+ projects worldwide. With the proceeds from this fundraiser they would support queer organisations in Poland.
About Radio Voorwaarts:
Radio Voorwaarts originated as a short film chronicling the final party of an alternative community on the brink of eviction. From there, it evolved into a platform for arts & music with a DIY and community-building mentality. A lot of our work relates to discourse around gentrification, urban renewal, and (the lack of space for) counterculture. We’ve primarily hosted events and screenings in Amsterdam, but also in Berlin, Lima, Bogotá and online.
