After a superhuman battle since her diagnosis in 2019, Anni has succumbed to the damage inflicted on her body by aggressive cancer.
Anni's daughter Ava and her husband Alberto were with her, at her hospital bed, as she took her last breath on March 2, 2023, at 10:25 am, in Florida, USA.
It is difficult to appreciate the trauma the family has endured. Not only has Ava lost her mother, and Alberto his wife, but the mounting cost of Anni's medical diagnostics, treatment and travel has all but ruined the family's finances to the point of insolvency. Over the last many months of Anni's life, Alberto had become a full-time in-home care provider, further impairing the family's ability to earn a living.
Now the rebuilding begins.

We are asking you to contribute toward rebuilding Ava's and Alberto's lives. Alberto's life is now devoted to supporting his daughter as she grows up without her mother. Let's ensure Ava experiences as happy a childhood as a child possibly can.
Donations made in this campaign will be used for these purposes:
- Cremation of Anni's body in the US
- Anni's funeral and final resting place in Denmark
- Moving the family and its household from Florida to Denmark
- Therapy for Ava (and potentially Alberto)
- Temporary accommodation in Denmark
- General financial support until Alberto has found work in Denmark that allows him to look after Ava
- Should any funds remain unused, they will be deposited into an account for Ava's benefit
