Help for Diana McWhorter During Her Recovery

Donation protected
Family and friends, as most of you know, Diana McWhorter suffered a stroke in her home, on January 31, 2021.  She was initially at the ICU in Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where they discovered a blood clot in her brain that caused her numbness and speech impairment.  On February 10th, Diana was moved from Long Beach Memorial to the Little Company of Mary (LCM) Rehab center in Torrance.  She was doing well and her speech was improving, however, on February 24th she suffered a setback, including pneumonia and a collapsed lung.  Her left side and speech were once again affected.

Diana has worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 30 years;  she worked at Carson Station, and has currently been assigned to Lomita Station for approximately 20 years.  Aside from her responsibilities as the station operator, Diana's smiling face also greets visitors needing help at the front desk.  Moreover, Diana has coordinated countless fundraisers for the station and for those in need in our local communities.  Every year she has done 'back to school' projects collecting new backpacks and school supplies for less fortunate students, and yard sales to raise funds to purchase clothing for needy families.  She is always the one sending birthday cards or flowers for station personnel who have fallen ill.  Diana doesn't know how to say, "No", when there is someone in need...she is always the first to step up and offer help.

As of March 11, 2021, Diana has been back at the LCM Rehab Center.  As you can imagine, this illness has created a major financial burden for Diana and her family. Her road to recovery is going to be long and arduous.  Diana has always been there for others, but now, she needs us.  Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated, no matter the size.  All funds will go directly to Diana to help her and her family purchase food, pay bills that are piling up, and pay for additional medical expenses that are not covered by insurance.  We're hoping this GoFundMe account can help alleviate a little of the financial stress she is experiencing, so she can focus on her healing.  We also ask that you all continue to keep Diana and her family in your daily thoughts and prayers.  Thank you.
