Help Eldred Wormwood & Alkahest Press

 

Our friend Eldred needs our help. After a year of Covid confusion and Brexit nightmares Eldred Wormwood is facing the loss of three printings that were bound for his home in Portugal but have gone missing in Portuguese customs.

 

Having ordered a reprint of his volume "Wyrdwood", the fanzine "Folkwitch Vol 4" and "The Skeptical Occultist Volume 5" to be shipped in time to arrive in Portugal before the Brexit deadline of January 1 2020 everything went sideways as Covid stopped all ground shipments and stranded the boxes of books in limbo, arriving to Portuguese customs sometime after the UK was officially out of the EU.

 

Months of bureaucratic paperwork, phones calls and emails to customs officials having led nowhere, and then his health having taken a sidestep last spring, Eldred has tried everything he can to find out what happened to his books. Finally this summer he hired a lawyer, who was kind enough to eventually let him know that the cost of a legal pursuit would be more than the cost of a reprinting of all of the editions.

 

Now Eldred is facing having to sort out these reprintings without any financial support due to the loss of the books. Alkahest Press, his publishing imprint, already works on just a 20% margin, often eating the costs of increasing international shipping to customers. He has worked in the field of esoteric publishing out of a love for the community that has gathered around his site Skeptical Occultist and lives off of a small pension.

 

Help us support Eldred in his time of need. He wishes only to get these books reprinted and shipped out to the readers who have waited so patiently throughout this year of delays.
