My dear friend Sheri Marino (née Curran) is asking for help.

Sheri is the most selfless, loving and kind person I know. I met her 8 or 9 years ago when I was working at Coles (the book store that used to be in the mall in Powell River). She was one of our regulars, and we automatically connected as friends. I knew from the moment I met her that Sheri is always unapologetically herself and a protective mama bear, not only for her children but for the folks she meets along the way and connects with.

As some may know, Sheri has had a long, hard battle with advanced lung cancer, which has spread into her lymph nodes. Although her first treatment was successful, her subsequent treatment almost took her life, and she is now unable to go through any more. Sadly, this cancer will likely take her life, and they are unsure how long she may have left Earth-side.

Sheri, as she does, is thinking of her family during this time. Despite all she has gone through, she is still a loving caregiver to her husband, her aging mother with dementia, and her grown son, who has autism.

Without knowing what the future holds, Sheri is asking for help to raise enough money to insure rent on their house for at least four months after her passing so that arrangements can be made and fulfilled and ensure that her family will be safe until they get to their new dwellings.
