Introduction to the Fundraiser

I’m Isaac, a singer-songwriter in Ottawa, Canada.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve experimented with music, audio, and songwriting in a pretty relentless way. From noodling around on an upright piano at the age of 10 to releasing an EP in 2021 with my Ottawa-based duo (Bristol Mines - Easy Target), I’m well-versed with creation projects.

Since January 2024, I have been working towards the creation of my first ever full-length collection of music recordings. Under the mentorship of Juno/Polaris-nominated Canadian songwriter, Kalle Mattson (Summersets), I have written songs that come across as vignettes about the day-to-day things that might just be on everyone else’s mind. They reflect the geography and attitudes of the places and people in Ontario, from Ottawa to Timmins and back again.

As someone with a rich background in the recording arts, I have handled the recording and production process largely on my own, from home. I will be having the album singles mixed by a second party, and all of the songs mastered by a local mastering engineer. While handling the audio production side of things myself has saved me a tremendous amount of money, there are certain things I can’t avoid - things like cover art photography and professional visual media/art direction. For most of my adult life, I’ve struggled with asking for help. This fundraiser is my way of asking for your help with addressing those additional publishing costs.

To date, I have invested over $4000 of my own to create this artistic work. I firmly believe that this collection of songs will be a valuable and relevant contribution to the Ontario music landscape. If you have been looking for a way to support my artistic career, this is your chance.
