Help my friends without housing survive

After escaping one abusive living situation only to end up in another, my dearest and oldest friend in the world and their significant other were both violently unhoused in February 2021. They are now living out of a car that I bought them on loan from a used car dealership in March 2021 so that they could flee and seek out resources elsewhere. Now, in August 2021, I've lost my job, my only source of income, and am worried about my ability to help them survive.

My friend is multiply disabled and unable to work (yes, they have attempted work in a wide variety of jobs, and are now in the process of applying for disability benefits). Their partner has meanwhile only been able to find poorly paying and dangerous jobs from temp agencies, and while they have been able to survive the past few months in this way, it has also been thanks to the car and my ability to make payments on the loan, insurance, repairs and other emergencies. I'm very worried what might happen if if the loan defaults, if insurance lapses, or if another emergency arises and I'm no longer able to help. They have already had too many close calls to count, including many instances of anti-trans and anti-gay violence and discrimination.

I've set the goal to the loan principal for the car, which is essentially now my gift to them. If we raised this amount, not only would I be more confident in my ability to ensure their continued survival, but we may even be able to secure them a better form of shelter.
